Axis Sky Renewables uses a vertical-axis wind turbine without a tower. This revolutionary design translates to a tremendous reduction in steel and therefore a significant reduction in CAPEX. The newly designed blades function as a keel, like that of a sailboat. As the energy of the wind causes the turbine to rotate, the structure maintains its stability by using the keel and the counter-turning momentum.

Technology
The wind turbine sits atop a TLP (tension leg platform), above the water surface but below the wind turbine, the nacelle enclosed, stored generator housing that is static or non-rotating. The generator housing and the wind turbine are anchored safely to the seabed by several mooring lines.
